Current Programs and Projects
Learn about our ongoing programs, projects, and other initiatives in the Mid-Market neighborhood.
Guided by the vision of Mid-Market as an internationally recognized arts, culture, and entertainment haven, Market Street Arts invests in attracting diverse artists, art organizations, and creative entrepreneurs to vacant storefronts and public activations while also supporting at-risk, long-standing, and new small businesses and art institutions in the Mid-Market area.
Entertainment Zones (EZ) are designated areas in San Francisco where people can purchase to-go drinks from local bars and restaurants and enjoy them outside in common spaces like plazas, sidewalks, and streets during certain hours.
In 2024, the MMBA&F team successfully advocated for a Mid-Market Entertainment Zone on Market Street between 5th and 6th Streets. Our team is working with city officials, neighborhood stakeholders, SFPD, and our community based safety program to implement our first Entertainment Zone events in 2025.
Market Street Shines
Mid Market Foundation recently awarded SF Shines micro grants between $5,000 and $10,000 per business (from a total funding pool of $50,000) for expenses related to storefront improvements, repairs and equipment, and/or the increase in vitality of the Mid Market commercial corridor.
