Past Projects and Programs
In 2022, as the dust settled from the economic upheaval brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mid-Market Business Association & Foundation sought to define and develop a recovery strategy for the neighborhood. Called Re-Think, Re-Envision, Re-Experience Mid-Market (RRR Mid-Market), this process included four public community stakeholder focus groups and ongoing community engagement, a call for creative concepts, a retail sector report, consultation from a national retail expert–MJB Consulting–and a national arts and cultural expert–NOW Art.
After a year and a half, RRR Mid-Market yielded a recovery action plan, Market Street Arts. The plan launched in August 2023.
The Mid-Market Community Based Safety Program is based upon a core belief that all individuals in the Tenderloin, Mid-Market and UN Plaza should have safe public spaces to conduct their lives.
Our joint operations pilot program was a new model for how the public and private sectors integrate their resources to deliver daily public safety and maintenance services with the goal of achieving consistently cleaner and safer shared public spaces.
Pilot project to provide small business clean and safe support while proving the concept for the Mid-Market/Tenderloin Joint Operations Pilot Program.
