Market Street Arts Launches "Well-Crafted” in San Francisco's Mid-Market
Putting a Spin on Paint-and-Sip Events
SAN FRANCISCO (January 7, 2025) – Market Street Arts has launched Well-Crafted, a new series in San Francisco's Mid-Market neighborhood that puts a spin on the traditional paint-and-sip events. Presented by Workshop SF and funded in part by San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the series brings together crafts of all kinds: hands-on artmaking, well-crafted food and beverages, and creative expression. In December, Market Street Arts piloted the series, hosting ornament decorating, block printing, and watercolors. This month they expand to arm-knitting, soap-making, and drawing, taking place at establishments throughout Mid-Market, including Red Tail, Rumpus Room, Montesacaro, and Saluhall. Each event is free to attend, with food and drinks available for purchase. Free advance registration is required: eventbrite.com/cc/well-crafted-a-crafting-series-in-mid-market-3856013.
With the new year, there are many new creative pursuits to explore. Well-Crafted offers an easy and FREE way to jump into artmaking. The series provides an opportunity for people to discover new hobbies and creative outlets while connecting with their community in person.
"When you pair local makers with the Mid-Market food and drink scene, people love it!" says Abra Allan, Director of Creative Engagement at the Mid-Market Foundation. "By bringing together artists and community members in creative spaces throughout the neighborhood, this series strengthens the fabric of Mid-Market. It's particularly exciting to see how these events activate our small businesses while continuing to celebrate the artistic spirit that has always been central to this district's identity.”
