Grand Opening Celebration of the Red Tail Beer and Wine Bar
With its outdoor area now open, The Red Tail is operating at full capacity.
SAN FRANCISCO (March 20, 2025)— Market Street Arts announces the Grand Opening celebration of The Red Tail Beer and Wine Bar (992 Market Street), on Thursday, April 3, 5–7 p.m. Situated in the heart of San Francisco's Mid Market district, The Red Tail has quickly become a go-to gathering place for the local creative community, regularly hosting the Market Street Arts’ Busk It! performances and Well Crafted events. Now, with the completion of the Better Market Street construction between 5th Street and 8th Street, The Red Tail will welcome the public for an opening celebration, featuring live music, delectable refreshments, and uplifting community connection.
Originally opened at the end of 2024, the Red Tail has gained recognition in Mid-Market as a relaxed and inviting space for craft beer and wine lovers. As Market Street Arts’ third successful creative hub, it has already begun to play a vital role in bringing together artists, musicians, and art enthusiasts.
At the grand opening celebration, guests can enjoy The Red Tail's brand-new sidewalk seating, where they can enjoy live music by beloved Busk It! band Fault Line Trio. Festivities will pop off with a champagne toast at 5 p.m. as the Mid-Market community comes together to enjoy the neighborhood’s newest nightlife addition.
The Red Tail founders, Wesley Wakeford and Ben Sapone have a special history with the Mid-Market neighborhood, having first met nearly 10 years ago at 901 Market when they each worked as lawyers. Since then, Ben opened The Flying Pig in the Mission, and during the pandemic, the pair went on to purchase the bar that has since become known as The Red Tail. The journey from a pandemic-era purchase to a thriving community hub in the Inner Sunset highlights the founders' resilient and intentional vision. Their dedication to creating spaces for people to connect is contributing to the revitalization of Market Street.
The Red Tail is open six days a week, Monday – Thursday, 4–11 p.m.; Friday, 4 p.m. – 12 a.m.; and Saturday, 3 p.m. – 12 a.m.
